A painted portrait is a work of art and should stand on its own as a good painting. Essentially, a portrait should capture a likeness of the subject. Beyond that however, a great portrait also captures a person's character. My goal is to work with the client to create a quality work of art that will be admired and treasured for years to come.

Fees:
Prices for single portrait range from 3,500.00 to 6,000.00 depending on size and complexity.

Procedure:
The portrait procedure begins with a consultation between artist and client. Location, props, clothing, lighting and any special desires the client might have will be discussed. This also gives the artist a chance to get to know the subject and plan a desired feel that the painting will have. This will be followed by a 1-2 hour photography session at the client's desired location. All photography is digital, so the artist and client can see the immediate results. Also color notes and any other pertinent information will be recorded at this time. The artist will then complete the portrait in his studio from the photographic reference and notes. A portrait usually takes 1-2 months to complete and digital photos can be provided as the work progresses if changes need to be made to the original concept. The painting is not considered complete until the client is completely satisfied.
